Angel Antonio is a Colombian-Peruvian tattoo artist blending street art grit with Renaissance-inspired aesthetics to create bold, surrealistic body art. With over 16+ years of experience, Angel specializes in black and grey as well as color realism, and has earned more than 50 awards throughout his convention tours across the U.S.
Originally from New York City and now based in Chicago, he is the founder and owner of Black Atlas Studios—one of the city’s premier tattoo shops. Been meaning to post a review on the shop for a while. Angel did my half sleeve, a photo-realistic acoustic guitar with lyrics and a trash polka style. It was my first tat and Angel was great. I get tons of compliments on the work and my experience was easy from start to finish. The blues still pop against the black-and-gray work. Looks awesome.

Started getting my entire leg sleeve there. Such an amazing and positive atmosphere! They make you feel welcome and comfortable. I definitely recommend everyone check them out! Angel works wonders and the rest of the staff are so positive and polite it’s amazing! I would definitely recommend checking out their website and their instagram. Very talented artist!

Had an epic session with the incredibly talented Angel Antonio the other day. So Immensely grateful for turning my vision into reality!!! I will definitely be back for some work with him but seriously there are a ton of talented artists here. If you are looking for ink or piercings Black Atlas is the place for you!
